Helen Margaret Farch (nee Froslev) passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Helen was a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, great-aunt, aunt, and a friend to many. She was predeceased by her daughter Judy, husband Tim, brother Ivan, grandson Kaz, and sister Anne-Marie.
Helen was born and raised in Calgary and attended Western Canada High School. She and her husband Tim travelled internationally throughout his career. They visited and lived in exotic locations around the world. Helen was a world class bridge player. She was proficient at crib and if anyone won a hand, it was akin to winning the Super Bowl, LOL. During her busy life she also found time to attain her pilot’s license.
A Service and Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Nicholson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Helen’s memory directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, (100, 119 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6).
