Helene was born and raised in Hanna, Alberta. As a high school student, she loved playing basketball and volleyball. After graduating from high school in Hanna, she worked at AGT in Calgary for several years. She then raised five children in Calgary. She did the bookkeeping for her husband’s construction company and spent many hours volunteering for the Girl Guides of Canada and the Golden Age Club.
Helene was survived by her husband Heber, her children, Susan, Laura (Jason), Carol (Ryan), David, and Daphne; her 4 grandchildren; and siblings Jim (Nellie) Grott, Merle (Frieda) Grott, and Marilyn (Frank) Cucinotta.

A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Helene will be laid to rest at the Hanna Cemetery.
