He is survived by his eldest son, Dave (Cathy), middle son, Bob (Caron), and youngest son, Don (Pearl). George is also survived by grandchildren, Nicole Redgate, Jeremy Redgate, Christopher Redgate, Lauren Barr, and Crystal Keenan, and great grandchildren, Finn, Aida, Noah, Mckenzie, Brooklyn and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Jean Redgate; his sister, Mildred Woods, and his daughter-in-law, Sharon Redgate. George was born on December 21, 1924 in Weyburn, SK. He served with RCAF in WW2, and graduated from Brandon College where he met Jean, his wife to be. George worked as a geophysicist in Calgary at Beaver Geophysical, Richfield Oil, Pacific Petroleum, and Petro Canada. Dad enjoyed the outdoors, fishing trips with the boys, golfing with his mates, travel and being surrounded by close family and friends as often as possible. His wit, intelligence and desire to experience new things did not diminish through his entire life, and George continued to share family stories on his final day. His greatest joy was watching the new generation of Redgates experience life to the fullest.
