Irene Mae Hergert

Irene married her high school sweetheart, Fred Norman Hergert, in 1954. They shared 61 devoted years together, loving each other, their family, and friends with all their hearts.

She attended Western Canada High School from 1950 to 1953 - years she often remembered as among the happiest of her life - with a cherished dream of attending University.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred (†2015) and her brother Vincent Simm (†2005).

She is survived and forever loved by her three children: Shelley Hergert (Terry), Corinne Hamilton (Myles), and Russell Hergert (Sebahat), as well as her adored five grandchildren - Luke, Carly, Sam, Elijah, and Bo.

Irene loved, supported, and cared for each in her own deeply thoughtful way. She taught us the power of a positive outlook on life and the loving acceptance of every person we share this journey with.

A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
