Isabella Orr

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of our mother, Isabella Orr, on Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Calgary, AB.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald and Billy (Janet); grandchildren, Stephanie (Jay) and Amanda, and great grandchildren Teo, Wynn and Griffin. Isa was predeceased by her husband, Alexander, in 1996. She adored her family especially her granddaughters, Stephanie and Amanda, who brought Isa and Alex great happiness after arriving in Canada from Scotland in 1985. Isabella had a wonderful sense of humour and loved nothing better than to be around family and friends both in Canada and the United Kingdom. Isa and Alex made wonderful friends wherever they went. She was a very kind and generous person who loved children and animals, especially her wee cats. When Isa ran her holiday home on the ocean in Blackpool, England, the same people returned every year for the great food, great fun and great welcome Alex and Isa bestowed on all. The family wishes to sincerely thank everyone at Hillcrest Nursing Home, where she spent the past five years, for providing exceptional caregiving. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Isabella’s memory directly to The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Suite 271-339 50 Ave SE Calgary, AB T2G 2B3 or to the charity of one’s choice.

A church service will be held in Scotland where Isa will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Alex, on the beautiful Isle of Arran. To all her Canadian friends, thank you for the great memories. She enjoyed each and every one of you.
