She was born Iva Bradley in Cudworth, SK on June 18, 1944. She grew up in numerous small towns in Saskatchewan where her father was a bank manager, graduating High School in Kelvington. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1966 and completed her Master of Science with honors in Home Economics and Consumer Education at Utah State University in 1974. She worked as a District Home Economist for Alberta Agriculture from 1966 – 1994 in Two Hills, Lamont and Fort Saskatchewan. Iva married Gib Braham on February 27, 1981. Iva lived in Lamont until February 2023 when she moved to Calgary.
Iva is lovingly remembered and survived by brother Jim (Karen deceased) Bradley; sister Brenda (Mitch deceased) Gawron; sister-in-law Barb (Phil) Woitas; stepdaughter Heather (Ed) Gnenz; and numerous nieces and nephews from the Bradley, Gawron, Braham, and Henkelman families.
Iva was predeceased by her parents Isobel and Ivan Bradley, husband Gib Braham and stepson Bruce Braham.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lamont United Church, 5306 51 Ave, Lamont, AB, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., with the Reverend Carolyn Woodall officiating. A private interment will be held at the Lamont United Church Hackett Cemetery.
