

Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn; children, Cheryl (Bob Truman), Doug (Marilyn), and Terri. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Griffin and Ruth (Darryl) Madigan as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Jim served in the Royal Canadian Engineers from 1952-1969. He worked for the City of Calgary as a plumber/gas fitter for 25 years, first at the Children’s Services Centre and then the police department. Jim enjoyed life and shared his talents with his children and grandchildren, which included woodworking, painting pictures, tatting and stained glass just to name a few of his many hobbies. He designed and built our family cabin. Jim will be remembered as a very patient and dignified man.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Centre Street Church, 3900 2 Street N.E., Calgary on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Warren Wiebe officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Samaritan’s Purse, 20 Hopewell Way N.E., Calgary, Alberta T3J 5H5 or the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 - 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 2T7.
