Joanne passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 62 years and will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humour and love of life by her friends and family in both Canada and USA. She is survived by her husband Douglas Clark; brothers Carlo Klomp (Debbie) and Arnie Klomp (Lori); her mother’s companion Pete Vorstenbosch and many relatives in Holland. She was predeceased by her mother Katrina Klomp (nee Thielen) and her father Peter Klomp.
Joanne grew up with her family in Pickering, Ontario and moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1979. She worked for various companies in an accounting and office management function. She also worked as a commercial painter, coffee shop cashier, retail sales and golf course grounds crew. She enjoyed the variety and people she worked with and made fast friends. In the 1990’s she discovered golf and that became one of her passions. She loved golfing with friends or making new friends on the golf course. In 2005 she started enjoying a warmer winter climate in Florida and purchased a small home in Bradenton, Florida.
The family would like to offer our greatest thanks to the outstanding staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their compassion and care.
If friends so desire and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, (https://www.albertacancer.ca/donate/).
