Joseph Edward Paul Limoges

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Brian) Keller, Beverly Moreau and Judy Hancock. He was a loving grandpa to Joshua Moreau; Dominique, Nicolas and Natalie Robitaille of Midland, Ontario; and Chelsey and Jessica Keller of Calgary. He is also survived by his brothers, Gerry and Lorne (Shirley); his sister, Yvonne (Paul) Nadeau; sister-in-law, Audrey; and dear friend Evelyn Rohovich of Edmonton, Alberta.

Paul was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. He was married to Ruth Knapp in 1956 and when his 3 daughters were young they moved their family to the town of Penetanguishene, Ontario on Georgian Bay. He started his own business and operated Paul’s Refrigeration & Air Conditioning together with his wife. He was an active member of the community volunteering as a local firefighter, serving as an Auxiliary Police Officer, as Commissioner of the Public Utilities Commission and a member of the local Lion’s Club. He was a lifetime founding member of the Penetanguishene Curling Club serving on the building committee, the executive team and took pride in being responsible for the ice plant at the facility. He had a career change in his 40’s, sailing on the Great Lakes ships as a Fourth Class Engineer for Algoma Central Marine and subsequently settled in Western Canada where he retired. Paul had a fantastic smile, always exhibited a great sense of humor and heartily laughed at his own jokes! His consistently positive outlook on life was uplifting. Paul was a passionate baseball fan and never missed watching a Blue Jays’ game. Although he passed the day before the Jays’ division series victory, he was watching from the front row…

There will be a Celebration of Life for Paul in Ontario at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Paul’s memory directly to the Midland Ontario Civitan Hawks Special Olympics Floor Hockey team for their trip to the 2016 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Corner Brook, Newfoundland in March of 2016.
