Karen was born in Calgary, Alberta. She grew up in West Hillhurst attending Queen Elizabeth School for grades 1 to 12. Karen’s career, a Certified Petroleum Accountant, encompasses more than four decades with the majority of her years at Gulf Canada. Working downtown and living with her parents in the inner city was Karen’s life. She enjoyed her neighbourhood and the family home.
Karen is survived by her two siblings, Colleen and William (Laurie); her nieces Susan (Bill), Corrie and Julie (Scott); her nephew, Cameron (Susan); and eight great nieces and great nephews. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Frank Colson.
