Kathleen was born and raised on a farm in the Trochu, Alberta area. She began teaching in one room schools followed by positions in Nacmine, Canmore and Calgary. In Calgary she directed the original AMA School Patrol Band (the predecessor of the Calgary Round-Up Band and Stampede Band). Her passion for music was passed along to numerous students and her family. Kathleen enjoyed traveling the world, camping, fishing, photography, gardening, square dancing, playing cards and crafts. She is lovingly remembered and missed by her family: sister Stella Cole-Johnson; sisters-in-law Agnes Carlson and Cleo Ross; daughters Carol Ann (Cliff) Anderson and Linda Roberts; grandchildren Chenoa (Ian Crutchley) Anderson, Aiyana (Matt) Anderson Howatt, Mika (Caroline) Anderson, Tawa (Vanessa) Anderson and Ken Reid (Amanda Brown); great-grandchildren Celine (Mike) Gunderson, Darianne (Keegan Bowers) Brown, Savanna Reid, Morgan Reid, Lilly Reid, Mataeo Anderson, Alethea Anderson, Keilani Anderson, Sophie Anderson and Claire Anderson and great-great-grandchild Piper Gunderson. Kathleen was predeceased by husbands Roy Roberts (1991) and James Irons (2003); brother John Francis Ross; several brothers-in law and sisters-in-law; as well as daughter-in-law Paula Reid. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
