

Licinona passed away suddenly on Monday, October 18, 2010. Born in Sri Lanka, Licinona came to Calgary in 1993. She was a kind wife, loving mother and grandmother. As a devoted Buddhist, Licinona participated in all the activities at the Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple in Calgary. Through these activities she made many new friends and many of them called her Ambagaspitiye Auntie as she was one of the eldest members in the temple. Licinona leaves her husband, Rambanda of fifty-three years; sons, Nimal Jayantha (Sri Lanka), Rohana and Sisira; daughter, Chitranee; son-in-law, Dhammika; daughters-in-law, Soh Lan (Singapore), Sakunthala (Sri Lanka), Savithri and Juliana; grandchildren, Thivanka (Sri Lanka), Amaya (Sri Lanka), Rowen, Naomi, Aidan and Alana. Her eldest son Sunil Jayantha (Singapore) was predeceased in 2009. Friends may pay their respects at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday October 21, 2010 from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 3:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made direct to the Sri Lankan Buddhist Society of Calgary.
