Lillian was born in Otterburne, Manitoba to Frank and Bessie Lynn and moved to St. Vital, Manitoba to the home her father built when she was 12. She served as a stores clerk in the Canadian Armed Forces from1942 to 1944 at Camp Shilo, Manitoba. When Lillian married Les in 1943, the couple moved to Alberta. They lived in Drumheller, Lethbridge, and Calgary, raising three sons, Ronald, Frank and Terry. Lillian married Wilbur in 1964 and they enjoyed travelling and camping around North America in a small RV. Wil & Lil took a trip to England to visit the Lynn relatives. After Will’s passing she travelled to Thailand, Alaska and Yuma, AZ. She went to Expo ‘86 in Vancouver with Frank`s family and accompanied them on other trips including Disneyland with son, Ron. She loved to go with camping with anyone. Lillian returned to Lethbridge in 2005 to be near her son Frank and family.
Lillian, being an only child, cherished her friends. If out for a walk, she would make a friend, going to the washroom in a restaurant, coming back to the table she would tell us she made a friend. Her best friends were her cousins Olive and Eileen Baylis. Dorothy Hutchinson was her best garage sale friend. She made pies to sell at the Millarville horse shows where Dorothy`s grandchildren competed. Lil always had a large collection of crafts that she made and sold at various sales. Customers came to her with orders for 20 or more pairs of slippers. There are a lot of other special friends. Lil always had a joke to tell. She knitted sweaters for her grandchildren, and occasional crafts like a small doll crocheted onto teacup like a clamshell. She loved to read, hike with a group, bird watch and sew – she altered most of her clothes because she was so short. All in all she had a great life full of experiences.
