Lois Elaine Gregor, born to Edna and Edward Gregor in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, had an active family life in Saskatoon during the ‘30’s and ‘40’s with her two sisters Arlene and Laurie. She moved to Calgary in the early 1950’s and was employed in clerical roles in the oil and gas industry, notably as secretary to Home Oil senior executives. She treasured her time with Desk and Derrick, an association of industry women, and was President for a time.
Lois enjoyed watching her sisters in Calgary raise their families and had occasion to interact and cajole them with her unique sense of humour. Living in downtown Calgary provided Lois with many opportunities to walk and bus to shops and services, and using her library card at the Memorial Park Library. Lois also enjoyed singing with the Scarboro United Church Choir for decades. She shared her life experiences with a small circle of faithful friends.
Lois was predeceased by sisters Arlene McCall and Laurie Dorrett (Weir, nee Gregor) both in 2020. She leaves behind nieces and nephews Maureen McCall (Ray Kaduk), Marsha McCall, Greg (Heather) Weir and family, Mark Weir (Michele Cole) and family, and Valerie (Lawrence) Barry.
Many thanks to Dr. Adam and the management and staff of the Rocky Ridge Retirement Residences. At Lois’s request there is no memorial service.
