Lois Beverly Walker was born in Lomond, Alberta in 1937. Bev was raised in a succession of hamlets, villages and small towns in rural Alberta. She attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton where she met her future husband, Pat Whitney. They were married in 1958 and remained together until Pat’s passing in 2019. Bev was a schoolteacher in Calgary for three decades, mostly of math at the junior high level.
Bev was the loving widow of Pat and the beloved mother of Barb, Gordon and Karen. She was predeceased by her parents Esther and Lynwood; as well as her brothers Frank and Ted.
In her later years, Bev was an active member of the St. James Knit, Crochet and Quilt group and a regular volunteer with the Foothills Hospital Auxiliary.
Her funeral will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 6351 Ranchview Dr. NW Calgary AB T3G 1B5 on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Dr. Carmen Maier officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of both Rockyview General Hospital and Carewest Sarcee for their compassionate care during the last few months of Bev’s life.
