

Doug was born in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan January 19, 1935 as a much adored child to Dr. and Mrs. Vernon Jackman.
Doug was the last of his family of origin having been predeceased by his father, Dr. Vernon Melville Jackman, his mother, Martha Lillian (nee MacArthur) Jackman, and his sister, Laverne McMillan. Douglas is being mourned by his wife, Natalie Lois Jackman, and his daughters: Cynthia May Jackman, Catherine Martha Martens, Kimberley Ann (Hal) Langager, Kathleen Erin Calligan and Laura Anne Jackman. Douglas leaves behind 6 grandchildren who admired and respected him: Candace Martens, Lloyd Jackman, Jesse Stone, Byron Langager, Brody Langager, and Georgia Calligan. His great-grandchildren are Austin Martens, Cassidy Martens, Parker Stone, Cohen Langager, Calligan Langager, and Madison Langager.
Douglas received his degree in engineering in 1955 and worked at Gulf Canada Resources until his retirement at age 65. He was a proud member of APEGGA and considered the “ERCB regulation man” at Gulf. After retirement from Gulf Douglas went on to form his own consulting firm.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Westview Baptist Church, 1313 Ranchlands Way NW in Calgary on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
