Lucy M. Gallagher (Schmaltz) passed away calmly with her family by her side in Calgary at the age of 86 years. She was born in Beiseker, Alberta and moved to Morrin, Alberta at the age of 15 where she met the love of her life (Kelly). They married in 1949 and raised 3 children, Gerri (Brian), Pat and Jeremy. Lucy is also survived by her grandsons Randy (Susan) and Gary (Kandice); great-granddaughters Katie and Alex and great great-grandson Kaeden as well as her sister Flo. She was predeceased by her husband Kelly in January, 2014. Lucy’s heart was open to everyone she met and treated them with kindness and affection. Heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Peter Wash, Dr. Patrick Wong and Dr. Han and all the caregivers at the Rockyview Hospital and Carewest Glenmore Park.
There will be no formal service held. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Lucy’s honour directly to STARS Air Ambulance, 570, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8M7
