She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Teala and Warren Willet; grandchildren Lara Gibb (Jayme) and Wesley Young; step grandchildren Jennifer Willet (Grant), Robin Powell, Sarah Hendrickson, Elayna Young and Scott Young; great grandchildren, Ella, Keera, and Jett Gibb; and step-great grandchildren Colten Powell, Abigail, Beatrix Yokum, Fiona and Liam Young. She is also survived by her two brothers-in-law; Stanley Kent (Joanne) and Gordon Cleaver (Tina).
She is predeceased by her first husband of 46 years, Walter Kent, in 1994, and second husband of 6 years, Daniel Fraser, in 2014. She is also predeceased by her parents: Paul and Edith Lehman, and sister Lyla Cleaver.
Margaret was born in Arrowwood, AB, and grew up in Calgary, AB. She enjoyed playing the piano and reading. She married her first husband, Walter Kent, in 1948 and enjoyed a professional career working for several accounting firms in Calgary, finishing her career at Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse). Margaret and Walter belonged to the Legion Trailer Club for many years. After they retired, they enjoyed RVing in Arizona for the winters.
Margaret met her second husband Dan Fraser in 2007. They shared a love for gardening and RVing. She was a longstanding member of the 264 Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and was also actively involved with the King's Own Veterans Association (formally 50/14 Veterans Association).
Margaret will be remembered for her love of cats, travel, gardening, and painting. Family and friends will always remember her infectious smile that lit up her whole face. She will be missed by all who knew her!
A Memorial Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
