Thank you all for being here today for Marg. She would be pleased.
We are here today to celebrate the life of Marguerite Joan Kerr Douglas Ingram Clarke.
Marg was born to Allen and Helen Douglas of Calgary on October 10, 1930.
She was the youngest of 3 children, and raised in a strict Victorian fashion. She married at the age of 19, to Gordon Ingram of Calgary, had one child named Donnald, and was carrying a daughter to be named Wendy. Gordon passed away suddenly at the age of 24 years in 1953. Marg lived with her two children in the basement sweet of Florence and Hector Ingram for 3 years. During this time, her best friend convinced Marg to go to a YMCA dance to meet people, this is where she met Brian. Eventually Marg and Brian were married in 1956 and moved into their new home in N.W. Calgary. Brian was now a stepfather to Don and Wendy and father to his own son Jim. Marg and Brian had been married 60 years as of 2016.
Marg loved Crafts. She made table centers, candles and decorations for Church functions, Weddings and other gatherings. She prepared food for Meals On Wheels, and was a member of the Y'sMens club and Live Wires square dance club. Also as Snowy Owl, a leader and crafts teacher for the Brownies. She was also a collector of Dresden Dolls, Porcillen Angels, and Bells other items. Marg was a Pioneer Daughter that collected information of the Calgary's history and the Stampede, as well as England’s Royal Family. Let us not forget, of course, her traditional Christmas Eve dinners of ham, turkey and sweets. She was delighted to have friends and family there.
Quickly failing health made her unable to continue here home activities and she spent the last year and a half at the Brentwood Care Centre until her passing to Heaven in August of 2016.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
We love you Mom, till we meet again.
