Marion Melba Storrow

Marion was the eldest child of Gwenfron (nee Evans) and Emlyn Davies; she is survived by her brother Brian (Barbara) of Caerphilly, Wales and Anne Guillard of Richmond, BC; as well as her Children, David (Cheryl), and Robert (Leah) and her four Grandchildren Jonathan, Luke, Claire, and Abby. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband Stanley.

Upon completion of her education in Wales, Marion moved into London where she met Stan. Stan and Marion were married November 4, 1961. In December of 1979 the family moved to Edmonton, AB. Due to changing economics in Canada Stan & Marion moved several times: To Calgary; San Francisco, California; Munroe, Louisianna; Rome, Italy; and London, England. Stan & Marion eventually retired to Malta. They returned home to Calgary in 1996. They very much enjoyed touring visitors from the UK and elsewhere around the Alberta Rockies.

As a supporter of the arts Marion had subscriptions to Calgary Opera, Calgary Ballet, Stage West, as well as attending events hosted by various seniors groups. She loved taking her grandchildren and friends along, she rarely turned down an invitation to an arts, dance, or jazz band performance. Marion was well-traveled, enjoyed cruising, and generally loved being near the water. She made many friends in her nearly 94 years and was always described as being kind and generous. She will be dearly missed.

A service will be held to celebrate Marion’s life at South Calgary Funeral Center (12700 Macleod Trail South) on Friday March 13 at 1:30p.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice
