Born on May 11, 1952, in Sardinia, Italy, Marisa brought her radiant energy and sharp wit to Canada, where she built a life of impact and joy. She dedicated much of her career to public service, beginning with Canada Employment Services and later excelling as a senior officer in Canada Customs and Immigration. Serving at multiple international stations, she earned prestigious awards for her exemplary service, leaving a lasting mark with her professionalism and compassion.
Marisa was a woman of vibrant contradictions: quick to share a warm smile or a glass of red wine, she loved nothing more than dancing under a warm sky, yet just as swift with a pointed barb for anyone who underestimated her. Her Sardinian spirit shone through in her love for life’s simple pleasures and her fierce independence. Whether twirling in a sunlit dance or sparking laughter with her sharp humor, Marisa’s presence was unforgettable.
Marisa is survived by her beloved sons, Jamie and Gary, her cherished grandsons, Liam and Kian, her daughter-in-law, Wendy, her sister, Susan, and her brothers, Salvatore and Emilio.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m.
Marisa’s laughter and light will forever dance in our hearts.
