OBITUARY
Maureen Thelma McRae
11 November, 1938 – 13 April, 2020

IN THE CARE OF
South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium
Maureen Thelma (nee Harper) McRae passed away suddenly on April 13, 2020. Maureen’s very large and amazing heart stopped and she left this world to meet her Creator.
She was 81 years old. Maureen was a faithful follower and member of the Salvation Army church in all of the communities in which she lived. She was actively involved in women’s groups, prayer groups, and back in the day - she was a Cub Scout leader.
Maureen grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met and married Duncan. They were married for 61 years this year and they cared for, cherished, respected and loved each other deeply. They lived and experienced the various wonders of Northern Canada, Ontario (Elora) and ultimately ended up out west in Calgary, Vancouver, and finally in High River, Alberta for the last 12 years.
Maureen is lovingly remembered by her husband Duncan Charles, their three children and six grandchildren: Duncan Jr., his wife Michelle, and their girls Silvana and Mattea; Marni McRae and her children Michael (Sherri) Cash, Meghan Mackenzie (Chad Parker), and Kodi McRae (Ken Manske); and Nicole (Rod) Macklin, and their daughter Roen. Maureen is also survived by her brother Garth (Merna) Harper.
It cannot be contained within this short biography, the size of Maureen’s love, spirit and life. Truly all who knew her loved her and was loved by her. She gave of herself freely, without judgement and with only love. She loved her children greatly, her grandchildren even more.
There will be no funeral service at this time, in light of social distancing.
