Mavis Vernnie Duncan

Mavis Duncan passed away suddenly at the Brentwood Nursing Home in Calgary, AB on Thursday, June 6th, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Mavis is lovingly remembered by her sons Kurt (Joy) Duncan and Mark (Keleen) Duncan; daughter Maura (Simon) Reeve; sisters Maureen Fair and Joanne Walter; brother-in-law John (Ordella) Kenyon; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years Albert Thomas Duncan; parents Doreen and George Tillisch, as well as brothers-in-law Jack Fair and Peter Walter. Mavis will live on in our memories for her sharp wit, humour and compassion. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, June 13th, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. A private family Interment will follow at Queens Park Cemetery the following week. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society (201, 222 - 58 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3).
