Melitta Schoenberger passed away peacefully at the Brentwood Care Centre on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Melitta immigrated to Medicine Hat from Germany in 1949, married in 1951 and moved with her family to Calgary in 1958. Her family was of great importance to her, she loved them all very dearly. Melitta is lovingly remembered by her sons Walter (Leanna) and Arthur (Beverly); grandchildren Ryan (Lisa), Kara (Scott), Rory (Morgan), Stephanie (Keiran) and Andrea; brother Friedrich; as well as nieces and nephews. Melitta is predeceased by her husband Eugene, son Harry, sister Katherina (Josef) and sister-in-law Alma. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Staff at the Foothills Hospital and Brentwood Care Centre for their care of Melitta over the last two months. A Visitation will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, AB (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A private family service will be held. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
