Mr. Michael Barry Donnelly

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad. Barry passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 at the age of 53. Barry was born on October 26, 1954 in Calgary, Alberta. In his early teens the family moved to Auld’s Cove, N.S. where he attended Antigonish East High and then went on to Canso Regional Vocational School where he began his studies as a Stationary Engineer. As a young man he worked at Nova Scotia Power, Point Tupper for many years before returning to Alberta. Barry was working for DAPP Power, Barrhead, Alberta. Barry is survived by his three sons, Shayne (Pamela) of Calgary, Marcus (Judy Myers) of Slave Lake and Drew of Calgary. He will be dearly missed by his loving mom, Mary Donnelly, special aunt Barbara Murphy, sisters, Rose Meadows (Bob), Paula Caines (Ken) and brother Brian (Kim) all of Calgary. Barry will also be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and other relatives; co-workers and friends. Barry was predeceased by his dad, Martin Thomas Donnelly who passed away in 1994. A Memorial Service was held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. Barry’s ashes will be taken to Mulgrave, Nova Scotia to be buried with his Dad at a later date.
