 By all standards Muriel was truly a remarkable lady as all who knew her would agree. Though our meetings were few over the course of a number of years we did exchange some letters and cards as well, becoming friends. Known well as much for her wickedly funny sense of humor as for her intellect she had such a warmth about her that really was touching, made her unforgettable. The friendship of her family has blessed my life as Muriel did so thank you all for sharing the memories, my heart is breaking for you for the loss of Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother but most of all for this beautiful human being who we all also called friend. God Bless you Min, I will miss your laughter.

I was very sorry to hear of Min's death, and extend my sincere sympathies to her children and grandchildren.  I got to know Min over the course of several years of piano lessons in Calgary, and have a lot of admiration for what she achieved in her life.  She was remarkable - a woman of great character and intelligence, with a dry wit and a clear-eyed view of life.  I told her once that she was my role model for ageing well, which only made her laugh.  Her life story is worth telling, and I would like to do so for the Lives Lived column in the Globe and Mail, with the family's approval. I can still hear your voice, reciting Shakespeare and analyzing the lyrics of the Police Song Wrapped Around Your Finger.  Thanks Mrs. Hamilton for instilling in me a greater appreciation for literature of all forms.

It was a privilege to teach with Min for many years at Spirit River Secondary.  Her wisdom and sayings are cherished memories. Min was a beautiful person and will be remembered fondly.

My condolences to her family. She was an amazing teacher and lovely person. I will never forget her.

Min and I had a remarkable friendship of 65 years, beginning when we homesteaded together at "Wits End" in the 50s.  She enlivened all of our lives with her wonderful command of English and hilarious sense of humour, both then and through the years since.

My life was so enriched because of our friendship.

Mrs Hamilton was a great teacher, I remember when I was in grade 12, she told us that, "These were the best years of our lives, we wouldn't believe her now, but one day we would get it." She was right, my condolences to the family.

Condolences to all of the family. Mrs. Hamilton was one of my favorite teachers. When I think back to those days I recall she always had a smile on her face and unlimited patience.

To your family - we pass along our condolences.  Mrs. Hamilton... (Min) was one of my all time favorite teachers... although I am sure I caused her fits in class from time to time - she cared for her students and her work and she inspired us to learn...  I'm not sure if she ever thought I was learning to be honest... but... many years later I've authored a book Man Shoes that has become a best selling book... and I don't think that would have occured had Min not inspired and cultured a love of books and writting in my life.
