Mr. Murray William Anklewich

October 30, 1941 – February 17, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of Murray William Anklewich announces his death on February 17, 2010 in Calgary, Alberta after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Murray is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Penny, his daughter Dawn Gerla (Scott), his son Scott Anklewich (Jill), as well as his beloved grandchildren Cameron, Christopher, Liam and Bennett Anklewich and Ty and Chanel Gerla. He is also survived by his sister, Linda, his cousins Marilyn Farand and Don Mansfield (Eileen) along with many other cherished family members. He was predeceased by his mother, Irene and his father, Ed.

Murray retired in 2006 from a long career in the seismic industry and enjoyed being a snowbird in Phoenix with Penny in their RV. He also treasured spending time with his grandchildren by going camping and taking in their various sporting activities. Murray’s love of life and his devotion to his family will be deeply missed. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, 8944 Elbow Drive SW, on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
