Nadia was born in the small town of Isola, northern Italy in 1942 to Gemma and Giuseppe Ulcigrai. Nadia’s family immigrated to Canada, settling first in Manitoba, before moving to Alberta.
She met Francesco, her future husband, in Italy in the early 70s. After they were married, they settled in Calgary where their son Marco was born.
They made a life in Calgary, and after many years together Francesco passed away in 2010. Nadia lived alone in Calgary until her passing in 2022, and is survived by her son Marco and his wife Jillian; younger sister Marisa, and nieces Marina and Indra.
Nadia’s urn will be placed with her husband and parents during a private service in the Mausoleum at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
