She will be sadly missed by her children; Kim Stockton (Rick), Tracie Ontko (Rob), Ian Johnston (Lyna), Micheal Johnston and her stepchildren; Brenda Baldwin (Bill) and Corinne Baldwin (Brad). She was “Nana” to her 11 grandchildren and “More Nana” to her 2 precious great-grandchildren. She also left behind her loving sister Shirley Stafford, her best and dearest friend Lila McOuat and many nieces and nephews.
Mum was predeceased by the love of her life Jim Baldwin (2005) with whom she shared many adventures and a great love of golf!
Mum was 100% committed to all things important to her including her family and friends, the United Church of Canada, her support of the LGBTQ+ community and the many volunteer positions she held through the years.
Throughout her life, our Mum was accepting of all people from all walks of life, one of the many wonderful lessons she passed on to family. She touched so many lives in more ways than we will ever know and it seemed that she never went anywhere without bumping into someone she knew, be it here in Calgary or during her travels.
As her family, we are so proud of Mum’s adventurous spirit and her enthusiasm when trying new things.
The world has lost a beautiful soul and she will be missed far and wide.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeview United Church, 3023 63 Ave, SW in Calgary on Friday January 13 @ 2:00pm followed by a reception. Per Mum’s wishes and to represent her joy of life, please wear Pentecostal colours (red, orange, yellow).
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire memorial donations may be made directly to the United Church of Canada - Mission and Service (www.united-church.ca/donate) or to a charity of your choice.
