Philip Fung Shun Chow passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his wife Linda, and he is remembered and loved by his children Nancy (Ian), Lily (Steve), and David (Alice) and by his grandchildren Victoria (Lu), Cristal (Anton), Jonathan, and Miranda (Zach) and great-grandchildren George and James.
Phil was a keen golfer, as was Linda, and together they played numerous courses in Canada and the USA. Phil was still golfing well into his eighties, and when Phil no longer wanted to walk the fairways, he would hit golf balls in the basement at home.
Phil and Linda loved ballroom dancing, line dancing and tai chi, and they were frequent visitors to the Calgary casinos where they often helped to support Alberta’s economy. They enjoyed travelling, and particularly loved taking cruises in their later years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Farhan Khan and the wonderful staff of Rosedale Hospice, Palliative Home Care, and Foothills Hospital Cardiology Units 81 and 82 for their compassion and care for Phil.
Those wishing to pay respects may do so at a Visitation held at Foster's Garden Chapel (3220 – 4 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta) on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 2:00 pm and Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
