

She was predeceased by her husband Moon Yuk Yip in 2002 and son Tony Yip in 2010. Phyllis was born in Hoi Ping, China and immigrated to Canada in 1954. She settled in Cardston, Alberta, where she owned and operated The Du-Eet Café and The House of Quon Restaurant until her retirement and move to Calgary in 1994. She always said “I love all of my kids!” She worked tirelessly, was dedicated to raising her family to love and respect one another; work hard and to be grateful. Phyllis was outgoing, enjoyed travelling and especially loved cooking for our large gatherings of friends and family. Phyllis will be lovingly missed by her children Lily Quon (Kue), Fawn How (Allan), Wone Yip (Joan), Dorothy Allred (Ken), Jeannie Yip (Barry Zink) and Margaret Stafford (Andrew); her 13 grandchildren Juilana Lookhart (David), Vince Quon, Corinne Robitaille (Yves), Evan How (Tsering), Michael How (Jesse), Marilyn Harder, Scott Yip, Mark Yip, Daniel Yip (Stephanie), Amy Yip (Devon Wickstrom), Jaimsie Hughes (Brad), Jeff Allred (Cindy), Jennifer Stafford and her 12 great-grandchildren Paige & Josh Lookhart, Jonathan & Emily Robitaille, Madison & Isabelle How, Jayce & Kiauna Harder, Blake & Isaak Hughes and Elena & Elizabeth Allred. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a Visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Stephen Laing officiating. The Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
