February 22, 1931 – April 6, 2012
It is with great sadness and pain that we announce the passing of Rade at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on Friday, April 6, 2012 when his heart stopped beating after a short illness at the age of 81 years. Rade was born in the former Yugoslavia and came to Canada in 1991. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Olga; son Nesa; daughter Nena; son-in-law Jonathan; grandchildren Alyssa, Veronika, Nicholas, Marko and Vicky; older sister Dusanka (85) and first cousin Milka (91). After having lost his parents during WWII at the age of eleven, Rade was subsequently raised by his oldest brother Milan. Rade had a successful career in the electronics industry. He worked for two research companies and had several patents early in his career. Rade was mild mannered, kind and gentle to everyone. He was an exemplary husband and a devoted father who taught his children proper work ethics, honesty, persistence and good manners. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and other family and friends who knew him. A Funeral Service was held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
