In the months leading up to his passing, his family spent time with him every day. We are deeply grateful to have shared so many precious moments with him.
Randy was born in Toishan, Guangdong Province, China. He moved to Canada in 1951. He worked at a hotel restaurant in Youngstown, Alberta, where his dedication and multitasking skills led to a profitable partnership. He earned enough to return to Hong Kong to be introduced to his future wife Linda.
Randy and Linda were married in 1956 and began a new life in Calgary, Alberta. After running a restaurant with his wife for a short time, Randy furthered his education at SAIT and graduated in the welding and sheet metal programs to provide for his growing family of 3 daughters.
Randy loved to eat and delighted in anything to do with food, including going on cruises with the all-you-can-eat buffets. He enjoyed music, traveling, watching football games and was an avid golfer in his retirement years. As an active member of Bow Valley Christian Church, he and his wife hosted Bible study groups, served communion and was part of the “Young at Heart” seniors’ group.
He always put others first, worked hard, and thanked everyone. Even after his stroke, his perseverance through every hardship inspired us all.
Randy is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters Rose and Rhonda; grandson Josiah (Isabella); great grand-daughter Eleanora; grand-daughter Rachel (Cory); and grandson Peter. He was predeceased by his mother Kim and daughter Mabel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bow Valley Christian Church, 5300 - 53 Avenue NW, Calgary, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating Randy’s life.
Condolences and memories may be shared and viewed with Randy’s family here.
