Bob was born in Edmonton and raised in his early years by his grandparents. He grew up in Calgary where he built a life grounded in service, family, and community. He proudly served 30 years with the Calgary Police Service, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 2002.
At 19, he married the love of his life, Doreen, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Since her passing in 2021, he missed her every single day.
He was a devoted father to Scott (Alena) and Cindy, and a proud grandfather to Hayley (Owen), Asher, and Autumn Arie. Watching his grandchildren grow was one of the greatest joys of his life.
In 2009, he faced a devastating illness that left him paralyzed, yet he met it with incredible resilience, quiet strength, and grace—never complaining.
He never missed a chance to show up—whether building music cases in the garage, helping with theatre sets, or cheering from the audience. We will always picture him at the kitchen table with a listening ear, a warm smile, and a familiar wink.
He had a deep love of music and movies, enjoyed building model ships, and truly appreciated the art of a well told story.
He is survived by his brother Eric and was predeceased by his siblings Gerald, Larry, and Alysia.
“Family is where love lives on—through every memory, every story, and every moment we carry forward.”
Together again with his beloved Doreen.
Forever loved, deeply missed.
Details on a Celebration of Life will be shared in the coming days.
