

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Romeo Sotero Evasco, a devoted husband, loving father, and pillar of the community. Romeo peacefully departed this world on December 9, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 90. Romeo was born in Cavinti, Laguna, Philippines, in April of 1933, the eldest child of Justino and Luz Evasco. He spent much of his remarkable life in the Philippines, where he built a legacy of love, compassion, and leadership within his community. In 1962, Romeo married the love of his life, Corazon. Together, they embarked on a journey that spanned a lifetime, sharing joys, overcoming challenges, and creating a foundation of unwavering love. Their union brought forth three children, and their home became a haven of warmth and unity. Romeo was not just a family man; he was a respected figure in the community, leaving an indelible mark through his dedication, integrity, honesty, and his leadership. His contributions were not only evident within the walls of his home but also in the lives of those he touched. His legacy lives on through the memories he created, the values he instilled, and the love he shared.
Romeo will be deeply missed by his wife, Corazon; his children and their families, Pamela & Herbert Rellosa, Ronald & Raquel Evasco, and Romeo & Cristina Evasco; his grandchildren and their families, Bettina Rellosa & Manuel Hanna, Keith Paulo Rellosa, Ronald Angelo Evasco, Ron Michael Evasco & Ronald Matthew Evasco, and Claire Evasco-Hernandez & John Hernandez; and his great-grandchildren, Louie James Hanna, and Noelle Elise Hanna.
A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. MARY'S CATHEDRAL (219 18 Ave SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:00 A.M.
