Ronald "Ron" Arthur Jones

February 23, 1944 – August 13, 2026

JONES Ronald (Ron) Arthur passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 82.

Born in Drumheller, Alberta, on February 23, 1944, Ron grew up in the area and completed his grade 9 education there. He later went on to earn a Certificate of Military qualification, proudly completing the required training to become a Trained Militiaman in Rescue Operations.

A dedicated worker, Ron spent his career on the road. He worked as a truck driver and a delivery driver. Outside of work, Ron was a man of simple pleasures who loved traveling, watching sports, and, above all else, spending quality time with his family and close friends. He will be remembered for making sure he did all he could for others.

He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his beloved spouse, Dorothy Bateman; his children, Rhonda (Tony) Hansen and Russell Jones; his cherished grandchildren, Courtney Hansen and Ty Hansen, and his brother Gordon (Norma). He also leaves behind an extended network of family members and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents, and his younger brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Ron’s honor to the Parkinson Association of Alberta.
