Ronald Schmidt, born July 12, 1950, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, sadly passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 76. He is survived by his sons Paul and Tim, grandson Elijah, and his sister Dorothy and will be missed. He had been married to his wife Lynda for 43 years until her passing in 2023.
Ron spent most of his life in Edmonton, obtaining a master’s degree in Radiopharmacy and working at the Cross Cancer Institute for 30+ years. He was also a keen amateur astronomer and lover of dogs.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Riverview for their care and compassion in Ron’s final years.
