Ruth Ann Robinson of Calgary passed away at the age of 81 years on March 3, 2019. She will be remembered by generations of Calgary students, parents, and teachers as a caring teacher and able leader.
Ruth began her career as a teacher of special needs children in the early 1960s. She went on to become the Principal of Alice M. Curtis Elementary School, and later served as Assistant Area Superintendent of the northwest Calgary elementary schools.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Harry Robinson who, himself, was well-known as Principal of Western Canada High School. She was also predeceased by her parents, Shelby and Edith Craig, and her sister Jan Gauthier. Ruth will be missed for her constancy and humor by her many friends in the Calgary education system; her daughter Cynthia Robinson and son-in-law Mark Riepling of Madrid, Spain; son Craig Robinson of Calgary; grandson Spencer Robinson of Calgary; and her sisters Barbara Morrisey and Celeste Sterritt.
Ruth will be put to rest beside her husband in a small graveside ceremony at Eden Brook Cemetery in Calgary on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
