Sarah Jane Steele

Sarah-Jane Nanine Steele was born August 11, 1981 in Calgary and with great sorrow and sadness we announce the passing of our darling daughter on February 24, 2011 at the age of 29 years. Sarah is survived by brothers Daniel and Robert Collins of Kitscoty, AB; father Ron Proulx and stepmom Priscilla Hammer of Lethbridge; grandmother Evelyn Proulx; aunts Joanne (Keith) Tricks and Barb Proulx; uncles Gary (Karen) Proulx and Raymond (Colleen) Proulx; as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces of Ontario. She is also survived by her grandmother Margaret Wieler; uncle George Hammer; aunt Donna Hill, and cousins of this family; great aunts, great uncles, and second cousins on both sides of the family. Sarah was predeceased by her mother Anne-Jane Steele. She lived with her mother and two brothers in Calgary until her mother’s passing in 1994 and then came to live with her father and stepmom. Sarah went to school in Calgary and later the family moved to Airdrie, where she attended school until graduation. She then attended Bow Valley College and graduated attaining a certificate as a Disability Community Worker. Sarah moved to Lethbridge in 2009 and attended Lethbridge College, upgrading courses to pursue a career in nursing. She lived with her parents and was recently employed with Wholesale Sports. Sarah loved outdoor adventures, photography, and enjoyed reading books and movies. She loved her family and her cat Tigger. Sarah will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her. A Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery, 3219 – 4 Street N.W. Calgary on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends to meet at the cemetery gates at 12:45p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
