Scott passed away at the Foothills Hospital, on Sunday, March 3, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 61 years. After fighting medical conditions, he left many in the family shocked as he expressed his desire to live on.
Scott was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and is a member of the Muscowpetung First Nation. He went on to pursue his education at the University of Regina where he received a Bachelor’s in Applied Arts. He also spent some time at Athabasca Delta School as an educational assistant.
Scott pursued his love of the arts in many mediums including working theatre at the Citadel and at the CBC in Edmonton. He developed his connection with paints by creating his own pieces. He found a passion for the road as a roadie or stage technician with the Union IATSE. Although not an accomplished musician per se, he could show his talent and would strum a tune or hit the keys, if he was so inclined.
Scott found his passion in creating his own artwork and ventured to many areas, places, and spaces to share his art. He created Nechi Art as a business pursuit and would share many stories of his dealings and the next project he was working on or what inspired him.
