On January 26, 2016, Shelley (Shelli) Ann Foster passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 56 years. Small in stature, but outsized in personality, Shelley was pre-deceased by her mother, Priscilla Foster (née Campbell) and her father, Gordon Foster. She is survived by her brothers Stephen and Bruce; her sisters-in-law Edie and Gwen; her nieces Stephanie and Jen, and her nephews Adam, Nick, and Chris.
Shelley was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and raised in Victoria, British Columbia. By the time she was a young adult, she was very pleased to call Calgary her home, and lived here for over 35 years. Shelley became well-known within the bicycle courier community in downtown Calgary, and cut a familiar figure on her bike in the downtown core. Shelley was an avid runner and animal lover, lavishing attention on a variety of pets, including her beloved cat, Jasper, who is now being cared for by Shelley’s long-time friend and partner, Mr. Kelly Clarke. Through it all, and to the end of her life, Shelley always placed a special value on the importance of family ties. May she find the peace she so deeply deserves. There will be a gathering of friends and family to mark Shelley’s passing at a later date.
