Mrs. Long
In the short time I knew you, you taught me so many valuable lessons.  You taught me to be nice to anyone I met.  I'll never forget you or all the fun times we had together.  But, little did I know then our time together would be limited.
Now that you're gone, I wish you could come back so I could tell you much you meant to me.  You were one of the best teachers I've ever had, and certainly one I'll never forget.
You may be gone, but you'll live in our hearts as long as we live.

   You were I think really an inpiration to us all... The news was so sudden we all really do wish we had a chance to say goodbye.
    You've been my teacher for three years and heres what I remember most: I remember the first few days of grade nine you didnt even bother with the rules first, you said "wonderful to see you all". Something about what you said that day really stuck with me, 'no matter what happens the day before I will always start on a clean slate, people have bad days and I understand that... Let me know when you're having one and I will adjust my perspective that day' You were soo understanding of the circumstance I was in with my TYC and auditions that when everyone freaked out at me you were still there encouraging me. I remember that on my report card on a comment about the song I worked so hard to do you wrote: 'you could just close your eyes and picture her on stage in the spotlight' that really touched my heart. You always were the supporter and encourager and dropped everything to help each and every one of us. Whether it be, Saying a cheerful goodmorning every  day no matter how crummy the day started out to be, or when you would stand at the door wishing us all a goodbye with a smile upon your face... Little did we know that would be the last time we'd hear you say 'Have a good break!' 
     You've taught us all so many life lessons and were truly a teacher of the heart
   You were so passionate about your work and your spirit to this day still lives with all of us I can really feel it. 
   We all miss you so dearly. God bless you.

Mrs.Long thank you so much for the support and encouragement you have gave me during my difficult times. Mrs.Long was a very special person and held a special place in my heart. I'll miss her so much.

My wonderful, warm, zany, comforting, loving and wise sister is gone. I will truly and deeply miss our rambling conversations, shared love of books, and her boundless compassion.
Jaime will fondly remember days of lounging on the couch with her favourite auntie, singing together, telling each other stories and just being silly.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.

Sherri was the best big sister anyone could ever hope for. She loved me unconditionally. Even as a young teenager, she was overflowing with love and compassion and had all the time in the world for her little sister. Over the years, that has never changed. There is so much more I want to tell the world about my big sister but I can't just yet... 

I do wish that I could be in Calgary with Melvin and Marcus. I know that they feel the same pain I'm feeling. I am thankful that there is family there with them. Melvin and Marcus are in my thoughts every day. I love them both.

My big sister will continue to be a part of my life. She is woven into the fabric of my daily life... the recipes I cook, the art I create, the music my son plays, the jokes I laugh at, the books I read and even the face I see when I look in the mirror.

My Aunt Sherri was one of the most amazing people I have had the pleasure of knowing and loving. She was one of the biggest supporters of my music and was always asking me to play her a song. She did call me a pig one day for playing her clarinet better than she could but I'm sure she was joking. Well, mostly anyway.
I know we both like The Beatles, so in the words of John Lennon, "Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.". I'll miss you Auntie Sherri, but I'll never forget how loving you were.

Sherri was a very loving and kind person, a patient and intelligent teacher and a good friend that will be greatly missed.

Sherri was truly remarkable. She was more than a colleague, she was my friend. Sherri's sense of humour was matched by her sense of wonder. The universe is a significantly more interesting and better place for her being in it.

Sherri was an amazing woman with a heart of gold.  She was so kind and compassionate.  I will miss her smile, good mornings and singing in the hallways.  She lit up our school.  Sherri you will be missed but never forgotten. xoxoxo

I will miss ms. long so very very much but i know that she will never be forgotten. She will live on in all of our hearts. The one thing that i -and many more- will miss most about ms. long is the way she always talked in third person. "oh, hang on guys, ms. long made a mistake." I will miss her smile, her jokes, her... I know this is a hard time for all of us at CAA and also all of her family. My thoughts and warmest hugs go out to you all. Take care of yourselves <3

Sherri was a dear colleague of mine at the Calgary Arts Academy. She was a generous, supportive friend, dedicated teacher, and was always ready to share a laugh. I am so grateful that I was able to get to know Sherri in the last few years of her life. The students and staff members at CAA will dearly miss her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family who has truly suffered an unthinkable loss.

Sherri taught Year 7/8/9 students with me at Calgary Arts Academy.  She was the most reliable, generous and thoughtful staff member I have ever worked with. The light and love she brought to our school is missed immensely.  I am grateful and honoured for having worked with her on the Division IV team.  My condolences and prayers of comfort go out to Melvin and Marcus.  She was so proud of you both and we shared many conversations about all the successes you both were having this year.  Her sisters and mother were also of great importance to her.  I feel like I know them since she shared stories of her childhood and kept me up to date with their activities.  She spoke of all her family with fondness and I can only imagine how lost you all feel without her to listen to you or offer advice.  We are certainly feeling the loss, too. I know she's still here helping us all through it because Sherri would never leave us alone in our time of need.  Sherri's positive impact on everyone she came into contact with will always influence me to be a better person.  Thoughts and prayers to you all.

Ms. Long was an amazing teacher and mentor.  My time doing yearbook with her created many memories of fun and happy times.  She always found a positive way for everything.  I actually was starting to believe I was good at math.  She will always be remembered in my heart. Thank you Ms. Long for believing in me.

Our family will hold you close in prayer.  Sherri was a wonderful teacher, and will be greatly missed by students and parents alike.

My prayers are with Sherri's family at this time for strength and courage.  She lived a life full of love, compassion and true friendship.  She was my sister, my mentor, my friend... and my hero.
