Stanley Rup Kee Chan passed away peacefully at Foothills Medical Centre on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born in Taishan, Guangdong, China, and spent his early years in Hong Kong. In 1972, Stanley followed his family to Canada, where he built a career as a butcher until retiring in 2008. After retirement, he enjoyed playing mahjong in Chinatown.
He will be remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Chan & Hildy Chong; his sister, Shuet Hung Ma and her husband Man Chan; niece Sandy Ma; and nephew Peter Ma and his wife, Wanda along with their children Kaede and Ethan.
For those wishing to pay their respects, a Visitation will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service to honour Stanley will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 4 Street N.W., Calgary, AB on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with cremation to follow. His urn will be interred at Queen’s Park Cemetery during a private ceremony at a later date.
