Born in Toronto, Ontario, Steve spent his early years moving frequently due to his father’s military career, living in places such as Germany and Goose Bay, Labrador. Eventually, he returned to Toronto, where he began a long and dedicated career with Chrysler Canada.
It was there he met and married the love of his life, Josephine. Together, they raised three daughters and built a rich life together, centered on family and lasting memories. Chrysler later brought the family west to Calgary, Alberta, where they made their home and embraced a new chapter of life.
After more than 40 years of service, Steve retired and embraced a life of travel and leisure. He and Josie explored Bucerias, Mexico; the green landscapes and coastal cliffs of Ireland; and the beauty of Italy. One of his most cherished recent memories was a trip to Philadelphia with his daughters Jennifer and Stephanie to cheer on his beloved Toronto Blue Jays — a team he followed religiously. Whether watching or listening, if the Jays were playing, Dad was tuned in.
Steve was also an avid golfer, often spending weekends on the course with Josie by his side. But his greatest joy was always his family. A devoted and loving father, Papa, brother, and uncle, Stephen’s legacy lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren, shaped by his steady presence, generous heart, and quiet encouragement.
Stephen is lovingly remembered by his daughters Jennifer, Stephanie (Matthew), and Kristen (Dennis); his grandchildren Ashleigh, Makaylah, Brayden, Sophia, Brody, and Emily; his sister Lynda (Gary); nieces Gail and Jean; and nephew Zack.
He is reunited in peace with his beloved wife Josephine, his parents James and Helene, and his sister Katherine.
A private family gathering will be held to honour Stephen’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta. As Steve would have loved, you are also encouraged to wear your Jays gear and catch a game in his honour.
