Susan was born on January 2, 1958, in Verdun, Quebec. She moved to Calgary in 1983. Soon after that she met the love of her life and husband of 40 years, George Kennedy. Susan and George were blessed with 3 daughters. One of Susan’s passions was being a volunteer leader for Girl Guides of Canada. She was a leader to all different age groups for over 20 years. She was affectionately known as Poppy in the Girl Guide community. George and Susan retired early and spent their time between Airdrie, AB and Maui, HI, in the beginning and then Sylvan Lake, AB and Scottsdale, AZ most recently. Susan loved her dog Rosie and always saved a seat for her on the couch or on the patio.
Susan will be missed by her husband George; daughters Ashley (Richard), Zoe, and Sarah (Scott), as well as her younger brother Dave (Bev) and sister-in-law Chris. She was a loving grandmother to Xavier and Lukan and loved to spoil them when they visited her. Susan will also be remembered by her cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Susan was predeceased by her parents Robert and Doreen Harrison, and her brother Steven.
Her smile had a way of lighting up every room she entered and Susan will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Liver Foundation (https://liver.ca/) or Girl Guides of Canada (https://www.girlguides.ca/web/) in Susan’s name.
