

Sylvia Joan Stewart passed away peacefully at the Southwood Care Center on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Sylvia was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, England on October 30, 1921. After surviving WWII, Sylvia along with her husband and children relocated to Calgary, AB in 1957. Sylvia was employed in a variety of jobs, her favorite position being with the Student Housing Department at the University of Calgary. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, reading, along with the organization and participation of Travel Programs for Seniors.
Sylvia was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry Thomas, and infant son, Robert Granger. She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Stewart, and son, Anthony Stewart (Jo-Ann). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Kevin Cameron (Penny), Sylvia Cameron, Adam Stewart (Tracy), and Mason Stewart (Natasha); 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Sylvia will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She will be laid to rest beside her departed husband at Queens Park Cemetery.
