

Bob Baylis passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at the age of 77 years. Born in October of 1942, Bob spent most of his formative years in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He moved to Edmonton in the early 1960’s while working for Bank of Montreal where he met the love of his life Jean on a business trip in 1968 while she was working at the Bank of Montreal in Calgary. Bob and Jean were married shortly after and lived in Sherwood Park until relocating to Calgary in 1974. Bob had a real outgoing personally, ability to build lasting relationships and really enjoyed working with others that led him to spend most of his working years in sales with the Bank of Montreal, AGT, Real Estate Agent and Federated Co-op. Bob had a real love of sports especially hockey, baseball and golf, he played high level hockey in Saskatchewan he then transitioned into refereeing and coaching where he has left a lasting impression on many he coached over the years. He continued to golf up until recently and always walked the course until the last season when he had to transition onto a power cart. Bob always prioritized his children over everything else with countless hours spent in dance studios, competitions, tournaments and ice rinks. Bob spent years working with the dance community with his involvement with the Jamie Hill & Tammy-Lynn Powers Memorial Foundation.
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Jean; his children and their families, Brad & Susan Baylis, Krista & Chris Standing; his grandchildren Lauren, Ella, Kyla, Blake and Lucas.
Bob was predeceased by his daughter Tanya Lynne Baylis who tragically passed away in 2006 while living in Costa Rica.
A private Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at a later date.
