Thomas Dylan Bennington

Thomas is lovingly remembered by his Mom and Dad, Donna and Ron Bennington; sister and brother-in-law, Teegan and Paul Jessop; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; his partner Ayesha Looysen, and his many friends in Calgary and worldwide. He is predeceased by his grandparents Jack and Gracia Hawes, and Edward and Verna Bennington.

He was born and raised in Calgary, AB where he attended Braeside Elementary, John Ware Junior High, and Henry Wise Wood High School. Following high school Thomas worked hard to finance his dreams of world travel. Thomas travelled with his best friend India to New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos. He went to Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, and with his good friend Geni he went to Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador including the Galapagos Islands, and throughout Western Canada. Thomas was an adventurous and free spirit who made many friends and touched many lives all over the world. Thomas loved the outdoors, especially fishing high mountain lakes. He loved camping with his family as a young child visiting Loon Lake every summer. He continued to camp with his friends at this favourite spot as an adult. He loved hiking, camping, and backpacking the Kananaskis, the Juan de Fuca, West Coast, and North Coast Trails on Vancouver Island, and the Inca Trail in Peru. Of all the extraordinary events in Thomas’s life, it’ll be the small, everyday events that are missed the most. Saturday morning coffees with Mom, games of cards, Risk, and crib at the kitchen table. Thomas and his dad shared a love of music, they spent countless hours listening to each other's favourite albums and going to shows together.

Thomas has started his next adventure and is hiking his own trail… Maj Pen Raj.

A Visitation will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate) on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 8:00 – 9:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate) at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Thomas’s honour directly to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7.
