Veronica was born on August 18, 1933 to Stefan & Maria Skaper in Dolic, Yugoslavia. She married Stefan Gomboc in 1954. They immigrated to Canada in 1957. Together they raised 4 children and through hard work built a prosperous life. Veronica will be remembered for her generosity, joy of feeding her family, love of gardening and devout Catholic faith.
Veronica is survived by her daughters Nada (Phil) and Maria (Sid); her grandchildren Jason, Ryan, Shannen, Chris (Erin), Shawn (Charlotte) and Matthew; her great grandchildren Emily, Cameron and Zoe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Veronica is predeceased by her husband Stefan; her parents; her sons Steve and Loui; her sister Maria and 12 brothers.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a Reception to follow.
