I was so sorry to hear today of Wanda's passing. As kids in Exshaw, we shared many memorable times, far too many to mention here. She was a good friend.

Clara, I wish you pleasant thoughts and fond memories of your sister.

I remember Wanda and her sister Klara from growing up in Exshaw. They were two beautiful girls that always came to St. Bernards Catholic Church. They always had beautiful smiles.
I was so sad to hear of Wanda’s passing. Our most sincere condolences to Klara, her family, Wanda’s husband and all her family and friends.

Wanda was the kindest person I've ever seen dealing with our clients. Many times, I heard her saying something like "are you okay sweetie." On the odd occasion, I even heard her refer to clients as "poopsie." She was truly a wonderful soul.

Here's a funny story about Wanda that I cherish. One day, right in front of a line up of volunteers holding out plates for clients a fight broke out. I was horrified, worried about the volunteers, worried if they were being traumatized by the fighting. Later on, I spoke of this to Wanda. A mischievous, grin came to her face, and she started laughing as she blurted out "I bet they WANNA see stuff happen!" She laughed, and I laughed. That was Wanda ....

Rest in peace sweet Wanda ...

Wanda was a bright, wacky light in my world. She was always so happy and brought others happiness just by being her. I don't think she realized the impact she had on all of us at WestJet, just by being herself. No words can fully explain the loss I feel, except how much she was loved. And will be missed. Rest easy, my friend. Shine your light in heaven. ♡♡

I had the pleasure of meeting Wanda my second month at the DI 5 years ago this month. She so badly wanted to work at the DI after being a dedicated volunteer for almost a year. She had an impact on me from that moment and I knew I had to hire her. Wanda stayed connected with me throughout the years and always came to see me when she was in the building during the day. She sent me resumes of her class mates from school and kept promising she would stop but she didnt because she felt passionate about who needed to work at the DI and I trusted her instinct implicitly. Wanda was the most amazing, selfless person I have ever known in my life and I will aspire everyday to be as kind and caring as she was. The footprint she has left at the DI is big and she won't be forgotten by the many people she has touched. Goodbye my friend. ❤

I was so fortunate to work with Wanda in YYZ with a great team, she was so incredibly kind, fun and I loved working side by side. On our Radios where we used abbreviated language, she would always say ‘this is Wanda Kennedy’, it was so endearing and truly demonstrated how warm and wonderfully unique she was. Her dedication, care and concern for our team and our guests was exceptional and always giving.
My sincerest condolences to you Dwayne, your family and friends, Sue
